Job summary

The Office of Statewide Prosecution in Florida seeks a Senior Assistant Statewide Prosecutor – Special Counsel to serve under the Bureau Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor. The role requires a JD/LL.B., Florida Bar admission, and at least five years of criminal trial experience.

Primary duties include acting as a point of contact for specific prosecution areas, advising ASPs, reviewing evidence, filing charging instruments, handling bond hearings, and coordinating with other agencies to pursue

Qualifications

• Requires JD or LL.B. from an accredited law school and Florida Bar membership.
• Five years of criminal trial experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ASP POC/Subject Matter Expert for prosecutions.
• Review and evaluate evidence for criminal cases.
• Prepare charging instruments and file them.
• Represent the State at bond hearings and trials.
• Coordinate with other divisions and agencies for civil or administrative remedies.
• Oversee appellate matters and the record on appeal.
