Democrats for Education Reform (DFER) seeks a Senior Manager, State Policy & Implementation Strategy to lead our state policy agenda and translate it into practice through playbooks, frameworks, and direct engagement.

The role emphasizes policy design, qualitative research, and collaboration with governors, state legislators, and DOE officials, with a remote US work model and a 15% travel requirement.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in education policy or related fields.
• Experience translating policy into practical guidance and playbooks.
• Experience with qualitative research methods and stakeholder interviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication for policymakers and advocates.

Responsabilités

• Own and advance the organization's state policy agenda across priority states.
• Develop playbooks, toolkits, and guidance documents for policymakers.
• Conduct qualitative research via interviews, focus groups, and stakeholder conversations.
• Engage governors, gubernatorial candidates, and state leaders to advance reforms.
• Collaborate with programs, advocacy, and federal policy teams to align state and federal priorities.
