Instruction Partners is seeking a Senior Director of State Consulting Services to lead high-impact partnerships with state education agencies, regional centers, and districts. The role drives strategy, scalable service models, and research-grounded guidance across engagements.

Remote nationwide role with up to 50% travel, collaborating with senior state officials to strengthen instructional conditions and outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in education at the state education agency level or supporting senior state officials.
• Deep understanding of administrative levers, funding structures, policy contexts, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Champions multi-year state partnerships to build coherence, capacity, and sustainable practices across systems.
• Co-design actionable implementation plans and communication strategies with state leaders.
• Shape content and communications informing policy and elevating state initiatives.
• Define scalable, data-informed diagnostic frameworks and service resources for state needs.
• Guide partner engagements with progress monitoring to ensure outcomes for students.
• Establish reflection systems to evaluate partnership impact.
• Refine and integrate custom state service lines with organizational strategy and goals.
• Translate pilots into sustainable, high-impact service models for national reach.
• Anticipate sector shifts and guide teams through ambiguity to stay aligned with partner needs.
• Monitor systemic impact of consulting services on instructional conditions across states.
• Drive organizational change to sustain growth of state services.
• Create strategic proposal content and diagnostic materials to engage new partners.
• Develop advisory relationships with state leaders to expand impact.
• Support renewals, scope expansions, and alignment with instructional goals.
• Coach and develop team members and project consultants.
• Cultivate a welcoming team culture grounded in accountability and values.
• Align team strategy with organizational vision and resource planning.
