We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Standards Project Manager within our Software-Enabled Products, Autonomy & Robotics (SEPAR) program. This is a hybrid opportunity based in our Evanston, IL OR Durham, NC offices

The Senior Standards Project Manager (SEPAR) will support a diverse portfolio of standards and drive the development and implementation of safety standards projects to advance the mission of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) to make the world safer, more secure, and sustainable. The Senior Standards Project Manager will leverage project management experience to facilitate the development and maintenance of standards, and manage activities throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating interdependencies and driving collaboration across teams to ensure seamless execution and successful project outcomes.

What You’ll Learn And Achieve

As the Senior Standards Project Manager (SEPAR) you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Lead and manage standards activities to enable the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety standards.
  • Lead project segments and proactively forecast project needs. Plan and execute activities across the project lifecycle and ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as a recognized resource for guidance and best practices within the program or technical area. Contribute to the program management associated with assigned standards providing input and recommendations related to portfolio of standards.
  • Develop and apply end-to-end solutions and implement proactive strategies to address issues that require detailed information gathering and analysis.
  • Drive collaboration within the team to ensure team-level goal achievement and enable success in effective execution of standards activities.
  • Organize and present information to internal and external stakeholders. Support highly complex technical committees and those requiring the highest level of engagement within specific industry sectors or categories.
  • Develop relationships within the broader safety community. Impact and influence the standards development community through work in technical or program area.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion, ensure the continuous evolution and relevance of safety standards, and create capacity for new high-impact standards.
  • Maintain continued awareness of industry trends and external context related to the portfolio. Stay current with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks governing public safety.
  • Independently execute tasks that range in complexity and scope.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and adapt in a dynamic industry landscape.

Professional Education And Experience Requirements For The Role Include

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
  • PMP or relevant project management certification is a plus.
