Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, Utah, is seeking a Staff Systems - Nuclear Harness & Survivability Engineer (T05) to support the Sentinel program. The role requires guiding software-focused systems engineering across disciplines to meet NH&S objectives.

The position emphasizes nuclear hardness analysis, radiation effects modeling, and design reviews, with a focus on survivable systems for cruise missile applications and related defense programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s 10 years, or PhD 8 years.
  • US Citizenship with active Secret clearance, ability to obtain TS/SAP per business needs.
  • Experience conducting NH&S design reviews for survivable system or weapon systems.
  • Experience with MIL-STD testing and NH&S/EMI/EMC/qualification standards.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (MATLAB, Python) for data analysis and modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software-focused systems engineering for SLCM-N program during TMRR phase.
  • Define software and subsystem requirements and interfaces from customer needs.
  • Assess NH&S environments and translate into designs for software/hardware interfaces.
  • Model radiation effects and analyze devices to guide architecture decisions.
  • Plan NH&S and EEE parts qualification testing per MIL standards.
  • Lead NH&S design reviews and drive issue closure with cross-functional teams.
