We are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead technical excellence in our Purchasing frontend engineering. You will collaborate with engineering leaders, develop and implement technical strategies across full-stack teams, and work closely with stakeholders to build stable, high-performance solutions that are a joy to use. You will shape best practices, guide architectural decisions, and drive critical initiatives. This role demands high technical ability, leadership, project management skills, strong cross-functional communication, and a customer-first mindset.

Checkout is Affirm’s core consumer-facing functionality. This role leads the frontend teams responsible for this experience.

What You'll Do

• Build and drive technical strategy for all frontend teams in checkout.
• Work closely with stakeholders across all teams to champion and implement technical excellence aligned with business results.
• Create and foster a strong ownership culture with high accountability and scalability focus.
• Deliver reliable and high-performance user experiences.
• Guide product decisions, scope, and technical tradeoffs to maximize customer value.
• Design, implement, and extend core platform components for new products and features.
• Architect and influence platform, tools, and technologies to ensure consistency and reliability.
• Plan, design, and build scalable core platform systems to support growth in users, features, and business needs.
