Job summary

Project Q GmbH is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead distributed systems work for Hydris, its orchestration engine. You’ll shape architecture, APIs, and integrations that run on edge hardware and in intermittently connected networks.

You’ll contribute across Go and TypeScript code, drive protocol evolution, and mentor the team toward scalable, maintainable solutions in a defense‑tech environment.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping distributed systems in production.
• Familiar with Protobuf, API-first design, and protocol evolution.
• Comfort working across stack from Go to TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Core engine development for Hydris, the orchestration platform.
• Design and evolve the protocol and integration architecture.
• Architect a peer-to-peer mesh/federation layer for degraded environments.
• Provide technical leadership, set standards, and review code for long‑term maintainability.
