Job summary

Loancrate, a fintech platform powering home loans, is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer. This hands-on role emphasizes building across the stack with TypeScript, Node.js, React, and AI workflows, in a remote-first US-wide team.

You will own full-stack features, scale distributed systems on AWS, work with Terraform, Postgres and GraphQL, and mentor engineers while shaping architecture and product decisions. Applicants must be based in the USA and able to work US hours.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years operating at senior level.
• Strong, recent production experience building TypeScript and Node.js backends, alongside hands-on React development.
• Balanced full-stack background, comfortable owning both frontend and backend delivery.
• Experience scaling high-throughput distributed systems using AWS and Terraform.
• Production experience with Postgres and server-side GraphQL (Apollo/Express).
• Product mindset, security awareness, and ability to explain technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack features using TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Develop multi-step AI agents that automate critical mortgage workflows.
• Integrate lending, underwriting, document and fraud-prevention APIs.
• Scale distributed systems and improve backend reliability and observability.
• Make architecture decisions, contribute product ideas and mentor other engineers.
