Job summary

Loancrate is seeking an Engineering Manager to own and guide a pod of 6-8 engineers, collaborating with a Head of Engineering. You’ll shape people, delivery health, and cross-functional partnership with Product and Tech Lead to drive architecture and value. Remote-first, AI-influenced workflows are core to our engineering practice.

You’ll establish cadence, remove blockers, mentor performance, and onboard new engineers to achieve fast, high-quality delivery in financial services software.

Qualifications

• Experience managing engineers directly, with measurable delivery outcomes.
• Ability to partner with Product Manager and Tech Lead to drive roadmap.
• Fluent in AI-enabled software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Own pod’s overall performance, define priorities and ownership.
• Own the operating cadence: planning, retros, follow-through.
• Remove blockers and keep engineers on high-leverage work.
• Maintain accountability, autonomy, and psychological safety.
• Collaborate with Product Manager on roadmap and priorities.
• Partner with Technical Lead on architecture and quality.
• Run onboarding for new engineers and ramp them quickly.
• Represent engineering in planning and prioritization; escalate risks.
• Provide honest feedback and performance management.
