Job summary

Commerce is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural direction for large-scale distributed systems powering our commerce platform. You will mentor engineers, drive AI integrations including GenAI, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers across global offices in a hybrid model based in Austin or Atlanta.

You should bring 10+ years of production software experience, expertise in backend languages, cloud platforms, and strong knowledge of distributed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Expertise in backend development with multiple server-side languages.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and microservices.
• Observability tooling experience (e.g., Sentry, Datadog).
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities
