Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an experienced software engineer to architect and implement highly scalable microservices for a rapidly growing platform. You will own end-to-end delivery, work with product and infra teams to translate business needs into robust designs, and drive CI/CD and test‑driven development to ensure security and reliability.

The role emphasizes hands-on cloud-native engineering, container orchestration, and the use of AI-assisted tools to accelerate design and code reviews.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years software engineering.
• 2+ years building large-scale microservices on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with containerized platforms and production reliability patterns (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, AKS).
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• REST/SOAP, authentication standards (SAML, WS-Fed, OpenID Connect, OAuth).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL/Redis, data modeling, threat modeling, and secure-by-default design principles.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement highly scalable, distributed microservices.
• Own end-to-end execution of complex initiatives with secure, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and infra teams to translate requirements into robust designs.
• Drive test-driven development, automated testing, and CI/CD for quality and speed.
• Diagnose production issues, support escalations, and lead root-cause analyses.
• Mentor junior engineers through design discussions and code reviews.
• Leverage AI/ML to automate incident detection and remediation.
