Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to develop and validate electronic control system hardware for conventional and electrified propulsion.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and deliver on-time, quality components while guiding root-cause analysis and field issue resolutions. This role requires 20+ years of experience and a strong autonomous work style.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar engineering discipline.
  • 20+ years of experience developing electronic control system hardware.
  • Experience in Automotive and Commercial Vehicle applications.
  • Experience with DVP&R development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop specifications, statements of work, and action plans to source, design, develop, and release electro-mechanical components.
  • Oversee and serve as SME on validation plans for components and systems in lab, test cell, vehicle environments and with suppliers.
  • Prepare and present technical status reports, schedules, and budgets for executives.
  • Provide high-level oversight in root-cause investigations and field issue resolutions.
  • Lead system integration with control systems engineering teams and support cross-functional departments.

It includescustomer, product and system-level requirements development andvalidation.
