Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis seeks a detail‑oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage one‑off shipments, documentation, and compliance across domestic and international moves. You will coordinate with carriers and customers, maintain accurate records, and drive timely invoicing.

You will train staff globally, ensure safety and regulatory adherence, and collaborate with FP&A for payment accuracy post shipment. A related degree and SAP experience ideal.

Qualifications

• College degree in Supply Chain Management or Global Logistics.
• 5+ years in logistics operations or related document-intensive role.
• Experience with bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, design and improve one-off shipments outside the regular system.
• Manage required documentation with customers, carriers and couriers.
• Ensure accurate record keeping for future shipping activities.
• Define roles for maintaining regulatory and tariff documentation accuracy.
• Assist FP&A to ensure payment accuracy post shipment.
• Train personnel globally to maintain process continuity.
• Adhere to safety policies and internal SOPs.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including functions for tracking shipments and creating reports as needed. Strong data accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work overtime with little or no notice. Ability to handle exceptions, disruptions and last-minute documentation requirements. Strong communication skills. High level of organization. Ability to work independently.Experience:A college-degree in Supply Chain Management or Global logistics.5 plus years of experience in logistics operations or related experience in business affairs requiring document creation, accounting or Department of Defense shipping requirements or a combination of above.Demonstrated experience in a coordinator role.Hands-on experience with domestic and international logistics shipments.Experience preparing and reviewing key documents like bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, etc.Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.Experience working directly with carrier documentation.Willingness to train others.Situational experience resolving shipment discrepancies or documentation issues.Experience working under tight deadlines and adjusting to last-minute changes.Scope factors:Position has direct impact on company revenue and compliance success by defining and ensuring specialized documentation accuracy for inbound or outbound shipments as well as post shipment invoicing.Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
