Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the FinHub team to define the technical vision for the financial infrastructure powering Coinbase. You will lead the evolution of ledger and money-movement architecture to ensure correctness, security, reliability, and scale across products and platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with backend distributed systems.
• Experience in financial/payments/ledger or high-consequence transaction systems.
• Proven ability to drive multi-quarter technical strategy across teams without direct authority.
• Strong communication skills with executives, product, finance, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for FinHub ledger and money-movement.
• Architect primitives across fiat and crypto fund flows and transaction history.
• Lead rearchitecture of distributed workflows with auditability and safe failure recovery.
• Own end-to-end design and rollout of large cross-team initiatives with milestones.
• Collaborate with Payments, Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.
• Provide deep technical mentorship to senior and staff engineers.
