Job summary

Equinix in Dallas seeks a highly experienced Senior Staff Engineer to join our Network Platform Engineering team. You will serve as the final gatekeeper of quality before NOS and Fabric interconnection features are deployed into production, designing test methodologies and validating complex architectures to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.

This senior individual contributor role partners with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Observability to accelerate certification,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Network Engineering and Automation.
• Bachelor’s in Electrical engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Related Field preferred.
• Excellent OSI understanding and multi-vendor routing/switching experience.
• Deep proficiency in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Bird, and MPLS (LDP/RSVP-TE).
• Experience with VXLAN, EVPN, L3VPN/L2VPN and network virtualization.
• Strong programming in Python; Ansible; PyATS; Netmiko; REST API; NETCONF/RESTCONF/GNMI.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes; CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins); AWS networking.

Responsibilities

• NOS & Feature Certification: Design, execute, and document test plans for NOS and new features.
• Architecture Simulation: Build large-scale staging environments mirroring data centers.
• Regression & Scale Testing: Verify interoperability and high-availability in multi-vendor setups.
• Vendor Liaison: Track bugs, validate hotfixes, influence roadmaps with vendors.
• Production Readiness: Create deployment playbooks and rollback strategies with teams.
• Architecture Research: Explore new network tech, assess vendor roadmaps, test feasibility.
• Network Automation: Improve certification workflows with automation and programmatic interfaces.
