Job summary

Early Warning Services LLC is seeking an experienced senior engineering leader to drive the technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems. You will partner with software engineering, product, and architecture to shape approaches, own broad design patterns, and ensure high-quality code across multiple teams.

You will lead architecture, prototyping, and implementation to support product needs and overall technology strategy, while mentoring engineers and advancing engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in distributed systems and SaaS.
• 9+ years of experience in developing distributed systems and cloud solutions.
• Hands-on Docker experience.
• 2+ years of frontend development with frameworks (Angular/React).
• 8+ years of experience with Java/Spring; Maven/Gradle proficiency.
• Experience delivering business-critical systems to market.
• Ability to influence and work across departments.
• Experience designing scalable systems with event-driven architecture.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of SDLC best practices and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, product, and architecture to shape engineering approaches.
• Own the technical strategy for broad or complex requirements.
• Direct department-wide design patterns and code approaches.
• Review and validate code output from multiple teams.
• Resolve technical conflicts across teams.
• Drive architecture, design, prototyping, and implementation.
• Present technical positions in cross-functional settings.
• Lead a broad functional area with team planning.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering groups to build features.
• Own features or systems and define long-term health.
• Assist support and operations in resolving production issues.
• Develop and implement tests for quality, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor other engineers and lead cross-functional projects.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Support risk management and data security commitments.
