Job summary

Early Warning is seeking an experienced software engineer in San Francisco to lead development, testing and deployment of complex solutions. You will drive technical strategy, architecture and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable services.

The role requires 8+ years of experience with strong Java/Spring, cloud expertise, and a track record of delivering business-critical systems. You will mentor engineers, own features, and contribute to risk management and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Eight or more years of relevant related experience.
• Seven or more years in the development of distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, micro services.
• Six or more years with Java/Spring; proficiency in Maven/Gradle.
• Experience delivering business-critical systems to the market.
• Ability to influence and work in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience designing scalable systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of SDLC and DevOps practices.
• Background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Build technical strategy for broad or complex requirements that solve large open-ended problems.
• Lead in the strategic development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for programs.
• Drive architecture, design, prototyping and production delivery in support of product needs.
• Provide leadership and technical expertise to plan, backlog and execute designs to production.
• Guide a broad functional area and lead team planning activities.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional sessions and influence stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other teams to build new features.
• Own features or systems and improve long-term health of related systems.
• Assist support and operations in identifying and resolving production issues.
• Develop tests to ensure quality, performance and scalability.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling and processes.
