Gusto, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for Expansion Experiences. You will own outcomes across the expansion funnel, shape the architecture behind recommendations and conversion journeys, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Data Science to set the roadmap.

You will mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar while delivering measurable business impact. The role emphasizes autonomy, customer-centric metrics, and the ability to move quickly in a growth environment with AI tools

Qualificações

• 10+ years of software development experience, including full‑stack, customer‑facing products at scale.
• Ability to operate independently across product, design and data partners.
• Experience in growth, lifecycle, or conversion‑focused context (onboarding, upsell flows, personalization).

Responsabilidades

• Own outcomes across the full expansion funnel.
• Shape the technical approach and architecture behind recommendations and journeys.
• Make scoping decisions and ship simple versions quickly, then iterate.
• Design experiments and use data to decide what to scale or cut.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to shape the roadmap.
• Raise the engineering bar through direction, code review, and mentoring.
