Job summary

Illumio, onsite in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a senior software engineer to advance Zero Trust Segmentation across app/pod levels. You will work with Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift and other platforms, owning critical features and mentoring juniors. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent required.
• 5+ years building distributed and scalable software systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience with Kubernetes and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and networking.
• Experience with networking and security controls is a plus.
• Unix/Linux development environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Build a new orchestration method for Zero Trust Segmentation at the application/pod level.
• Understand and enhance container platforms such as Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift, AKS, EKS, GKE.
• Own and design critical features and subsystems and defend the design.
• Deliver a rock-solid, scalable, secure, and maintainable implementation protecting enterprise infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns.
• Collaborate with field teams and key customers to shape the product.
