Job summary

Illumio in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Sr. Member of Technical Staff for Container Security to advance our Zero Trust segmentation platform.

You will architect and implement scalable distributed systems, work across Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift, and cloud runtimes, and own critical features from design to delivery. You'll mentor engineers, collaborate with field teams and key customers, and help shape the future of container security in large enterprises.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent required.
• 5+ years building distributed and scalable software systems.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and related technologies.
• Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms; networking concepts.
• Experience with security controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable distributed systems for container security.
• Enhance container platforms (Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift, cloud runtimes).
• Own and design critical features and subsystems from design to delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Collaborate with field teams and key customers to shape the product.
