Job summary

BAC in Jessup, MD seeks a Senior Staff Engineer – Components to qualify engineered components for new products and reduce supplier risk. You will lead DFMEAs, develop reliability plans, and ensure compliance with global standards while collaborating with suppliers, R&D labs, and internal teams.

You will analyze test data, guide product engineers on component applications, and generate production-ready specifications, contributing to cost reductions and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with Master’s degree, or 8 years with Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong analytical, logical and math skills; good organizational skills; attention to details.
• Ability to complete routine qualification projects independently and complex projects with guidance as needed.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with design, quality, sourcing and suppliers to define requirements.
• Proficient in technical writing and able to document tasks clearly and concisely.
• Experience with data analysis, test interpretation and problem solving.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-time completion of components development/qualification projects for new products and supplier risk reduction.
• Lead DFMEAs and develop reliability plans to meet goals for components/materials.
• Apply standards such as CTI, UL, CE, ASME, Eurovent, PED and other codes as required.
• Coordinate with suppliers and labs to develop and execute qualification and reliability test plans.
• Review test data, interpret results, write technical reports, and determine causes of problems.
• Develop component specs and requirements for production.
