Job summary

Illumio is seeking a senior software engineer to build containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant system. You will process real-time data and network telemetry across clouds to provide insights and security recommendations.

You will design platform subsystems, defend architecture, and deliver robust implementations. You will mentor junior engineers, work primarily in Go with SQL data pipelines, and use Kubernetes for service infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 12+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
• Proven experience in Go and SQL development.
• Cloud platforms experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of networking and security controls.
• Unix/Linux development environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system.
• Design and architect platform subsystems; defend designs and deliver robust implementations.
• Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns.
• Write Go code; work with data pipelines (SQL or similar interfaces).
• Leverage Kubernetes for service infrastructure; broad exposure to cloud environments.
• Own key features end-to-end from requirements to deployment and usage.
• Own operational aspects to improve reliability and supportability.
• Maintain code quality with tests and robust development practices.
• Collaborate with Product Management to align goals with customer needs.
• Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interaction.
