Job summary

Meet Life Sciences Ltd. is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to act as the senior technical authority for enterprise messaging and collaboration services, focusing on Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and email security.

This hands-on role blends engineering with architecture and design, in partnership with IT, Security, and Compliance teams. You will own the architecture, implement secure mail flows, lead complex migrations, and mentor engineers while driving automation and monitoring using

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise-wide platforms and 7+ years IT experience.
• Senior-level Microsoft 365 experience in medium-to-large enterprises.
• Hands-on experience administering hybrid Exchange environments.
• Experience with enterprise email security solutions and migrations.
• Experience mentoring engineers and a customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, roadmap, engineering standards, and lifecycle management of Exchange Online and enterprise email security services
• Design and support secure, highly available mail flow, including connectors, transport rules, SMTP relays, and hybrid integrations
• Lead resolution of complex messaging issues through traces, headers, logs, and telemetry as the senior escalation point
• Implement email security and domain protection controls (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS, anti-phishing, anti-malware, encryption)
• Lead tenant migrations, M&A integrations, domain consolidations, and large-scale platform transformations
• Build automation, monitoring, and reporting using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and AI/Copilot-powered solutions
• Establish runbooks, documentation, and disaster recovery procedures, and mentor junior engineers
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams in an Agile/Scrum environment

A leading life sciences company is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for its enterprise messaging and collaboration services. This is a hands-on role (approx. 60% engineering, 40% architecture/design) covering Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and enterprise email security, in partnership with IT, Security, Compliance, and business teams.

What you'll do:

• Own the architecture, roadmap, engineering standards, and lifecycle management of Exchange Online and enterprise email security services
• Design and support secure, highly available mail flow, including connectors, transport rules, SMTP relays, and hybrid integrations
• Lead resolution of complex messaging issues through message traces, headers, logs, and service telemetry, serving as the senior escalation point
• Implement email security and domain protection controls (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS, anti-phishing, anti-malware, encryption)

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience (or Master's and 7 years, or equivalent combination)
• 5+ years supporting enterprise-wide platforms and 7+ years of progressive IT experience
• Senior-level Microsoft 365 experience in medium-to-large enterprises, with deep expertise in Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises
• Hands-on experience administering hybrid Exchange environments
• Experience with enterprise email security solutions (Proofpoint, Mimecast, Defender for Office 365, or Cisco Secure Email), including migrations or platform transitions
• Experience mentoring engineers and a strong customer-service mindset

Nice to have:

• Entra ID administration (Conditional Access, Authentication Policies, user lifecycle)
• PowerShell scripting and automation
