Job summary

Capella Space is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to own the full electrical design lifecycle for spaceflight PCBA boards. You will collaborate with RF, mechanical, software, FPGA/SoC, and operations teams to deliver high‑reliability, flight‑ready electronics for orbit.

You will lead hardware reviews, drive DFM/DFT improvements, and mentor engineers while guiding cross‑disciplinary projects from concept to test and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years designing and debugging PCBAs.
• Familiarity with DFM/DFT and contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Own the full electrical design lifecycle for spaceflight hardware: concept, requirements, schematic capture, layout, bring‑up and in‑orbit debug.
• Develop robust analog/digital designs for mission‑critical systems under tight constraints.
• Lead hardware reviews and drive cross‑disciplinary collaboration to ensure readiness.
• Define test plans and verification strategies meeting flight requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and engage with external vendors for quality and on‑time delivery.
