Job summary

Parallax Space is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer with a strong focus on PCB design to support spacecraft electronics, payload electronics, avionics, test hardware, and mission-enabling electrical systems. This role will contribute directly to the design, layout, build, test, and production transition of circuit boards and electrical assemblies used in high-reliability space systems.

You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure flight-ready hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of electrical engineering with PCB design, development, test, or production experience.
• Hands-on schematic capture and PCB development using industry tools.
• Experience with mixed-signal, digital, power, or embedded electronics development.
• Strong troubleshooting and lab test skills with common test equipment.
• Understanding of grounding, power distribution, impedance control, EMI/EMC, manufacturability.
• Ability to read/create schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and docs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and support PCB development for spacecraft, payload, avionics, power, and sensors.
• Develop schematics, select components, define interfaces, and support layout.
• Define stackups, routing constraints, impedance control, power distribution, grounding, EMI/EMC.
• Support signal integrity, power integrity, thermal constraints, and testability.
• Create and maintain design documentation including BOMs and design notes.
• Perform board bring-up, electrical checkout, and functional testing on prototypes.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, systems, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
• Develop avionics interfaces, payload electronics, and harness coordination.
• Participate in design reviews, tests, integration activities, and issue resolution.
