Job summary

Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to lead hardware design for new product controls within NPI teams.

You will shape the controls strategy, drive design for integration with building management systems, and partner with suppliers to meet cost and quality targets. The role requires 8+ years in engineering, 5+ years in electrical cabinet design, and strong technical writing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; MS/PEng preferred.
• 8+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years in electrical cabinet design; UL508A MTR preferred.
• 5+ years developing electro-mechanical control systems, HVAC control experience preferred.
• Proficient in technical writing: electrical specs and test plans.
• Familiar with BACNet/Modbus and BMS integrat­ion concepts.
• Experience with CAD tools and Agile work management systems (Jira/DevOps).
• Laboratory testing experience including instrumentation and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI electrical projects and provide technical support across teams.
• Translate requirements into electrical design documents meeting cost targets.
• Design controls for fans, pumps, valves, sensors and cloud interactions.
• Develop and execute electrical verification and validation plans with UL liaison.
• Create panel drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and configurators with vendors.
• Evaluate suppliers and proposals to achieve target cost and quality.
• Drive standardization of hardware development and testing processes.
• Prepare Electrical ECNs and communicate design changes.
• Support field issues and customer expectations.
• Deliver electrical training and present strategy plans to leadership.
