Job summary

Baltimore Aircoil Company is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to lead hardware design for new product controls within NPI teams and drive the controls roadmap. You will translate requirements into electrical designs, collaborate with vendors, and ensure testing and certification aligned with UL/IEC standards.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, cost-down initiatives, and development of robust verification plans across BAC’s global controls programs, including interaction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; MS or PEng preferred.
• 8+ years engineering experience with 5+ years in electrical cabinet design and UL508A.
• Experience in electro-mechanical control systems and HVAC controls.
• Proficient in electrical specification writing and test planning.
• Familiar with BACNet/Modbus and building management systems.
• Strong written communication and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI electrical projects and provide technical support.
• Translate requirements into hardware design and documentation.
• Design controls hardware for fans, pumps, valves, sensors and more.
• Develop verification plans and interface with UL testing.
• Collaborate with suppliers to create drawings, BOMs and configurations.
• Evaluate suppliers and manage cost/quality targets.
• Lead cross-functional electrical decision discussions.
• Define best practices for hardware development and testing.
• Establish testing procedures and analyze data to optimize performance.
• Promote standardization across hardware development and testing.
• Identify cost-out opportunities in NPI and sustaining projects.
• Prepare and communicate electrical ECNs and field issue responses.
