Payoneer Inc. is seeking a deeply experienced Senior Staff Engineer to anchor the bank's core transactional systems, owning the integration between the core banking ledger and the stablecoin issuance engine.

You will lead architectural decisions, ensuring OCC-auditable reliability and cross-region resilience, reporting to the CTO of PDB. The role emphasizes distributed systems, immutable logs, and regulator-ready documentation, with base salary range and a discretionary year-end bonus.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in high-integrity transactional systems
• Experience designing banking core or settlement infrastructure with audit-ready controls
• Ability to produce architecture documentation withstands regulatory scrutiny

Responsibilities

• Own core backend architecture for banking ledger and microservices
• Design reconciliation between fiat subledger, reserves and on-chain token supply
• Lead and mentor Core Backend team with emphasis on testing, observability and governance
• Integrate automated sanctions screening with auditable hooks
• Collaborate with SRE for multi-region availability and incident response
• Support audit readiness and external validation activities
