ServiceNow, Inc. is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to lead production‑grade agentic AI systems across the Now platform.

You will design multi‑agent orchestration, tooling, and safety controls, working with enterprise data and large language models to deliver reliable AI experiences at scale. The role focuses on architecture ownership, performance, and governance, partnering with senior engineers to push frontiers in agentic AI and enterprise search.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Hands‑on depth designing, shipping, and operating agentic systems in production multi‑agent orchestration, tool calling, planning loops, memory, and failure recovery.
• Production‑grade Python. Systems language (Go, Java, or C++) is a plus.
• Working experience with frontier AI SDKs (Anthropic, Google, or OpenAI) prompt engineering and model evaluation in production.
• Familiarity with RAG and retrieval patterns in production vector stores, hybrid search, evaluation metrics.
• Track record of technical leadership: architecture ownership and mentoring engineers.
• Nice to Have: deeper specialization in search/retrieval at scale or MLOps.
• Published work or open‑source contributions in agentic systems or retrieval.
• Exposure to LLM fine‑tuning or inference optimization in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship multi-agent systems orchestration, tool use, planning loops, memory, and failure recovery for production deployments.
• Build agents leveraging ServiceNow data layers to make context-aware decisions.
• Ensure safety, observability, and governance for autonomous systems at scale.
• Collaborate with search team on grounded retrieval pipelines and evaluation.
• Integrate frontier models into the Sense -> Decide -> Act -> Govern architecture and optimize cost/latency.
• Provide technical leadership: design reviews and setting architecture patterns across engineers.
