Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or staff accountant experience.
• Strong understanding of bank reconciliations is required.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, taxes, and 1099 reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Excel and accounting software, with Sage Intaact preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptable and comfortable with AI-assisted processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accounts balance accurately.
• Record and post accounting entries as needed (not heavy on journal entries).
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
• Maintain loan schedules by updating information in the accounting system.
• Monitor tax filings and ensure entities are reflected on tax returns.
• Prepare and process sales tax filings and 1099 reporting.
• Support bookkeeping activities including data entry and account maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records and organize financial data efficiently.
• Review daily scanned mail and route important notices or legal correspondence.
• Coordinate weekly check deposits and explore electronic submission options.
• Assist with various accounting and finance projects as needed.
