Job summary

Burnett Specialists is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing, fast-paced team in Houston. This onsite role runs Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, offering hands-on accounting responsibilities and room for career growth.

The ideal candidate will manage general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, fixed assets, audits, and GAAP compliance, while mentoring junior staff. A BA in Accounting or Finance and strong ERP/Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting skills
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
• Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements and analyze variances.
• Handle fixed assets, depreciation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with audits, sales tax filings, and GAAP compliance.
• Identify process improvements and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
