Job summary

RMP Partners currently seeks an experienced Accountant to support the finance department in Houston, TX. The Staff Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including AP/AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end close, while preparing financial statements and reports.

The ideal candidate has strong QuickBooks skills, formal accounting education, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Core accounting responsibilities including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Financial reporting and analysis, including preparing financial statements and supporting budgeting/forecasting.
• Proficiency with accounting software (ERP) and strong Excel skills for spreadsheets and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing tasks.
• Prepare financial statements and reports, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support audits and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain organized financial records, identify process improvements, and provide timely, accurate financial information to leadership.
