Job summary

Gulf Winds International, a leading drayage and intermodal logistics provider, seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to own general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and monthly close. You will help deliver accurate financial statements, drive process improvements, and support audits in a fast-paced environment.

The role calls for strong GAAP knowledge, 3+ years of accounting experience, and proficiency in Sage Intacct and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience focusing on general ledger and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred) and advanced Excel.
• CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and across departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for timely financial reporting.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, management reports, and schedules.
• Analyze financial results and variances to provide insights to management.
• Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and policies.
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and other period-end activities.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and Operations teams for accurate reporting.
• Research accounting issues and provide recommendations.
