Our client, a growing consumer products and manufacturing organization in the Brattleboro, VT area, is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant to join their accounting team.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree preferred; equivalent accounting experience will be considered.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including accounts payable and sales/use tax reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with sales and use tax accounting is required.
• Experience using ERP systems; Microsoft Business Central experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly financial close activities and reporting for multiple entities.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting transactions.
• Assist with tax reporting, banking activities, and parent company reporting requirements.
• Serve as a key contributor in accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related financial processes.
• Participate in audits, system testing, process improvements, and documentation updates.
• Help train team members and maintain accounting procedures and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across accounting operations.
