Job summary

5Point Credit Union is seeking an experienced accounting professional to monitor, maintain, and report financial analysis for the Accounting Department. You will analyze proposed programs, streamline processes, and provide actionable insights to support management reporting.

Responsibilities include developing accounting policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, reconciling the general ledger, and coordinating with departments to support accurate financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Understanding of GAAP, government regulations and reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with auditing and data processing functions.
• Understanding of automated accounting applications.
• Knowledge of Credit Union environment, operations and information flow.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing effective accounting policies and procedures.
• Assumes responsibility for the effective and accurate completion of accounting recording and reporting functions.
• Reconciles general ledger and resolves errors and discrepancies.
• Maintains the Credit Union’s Fixed Asset portfolio including tracking of Capital Projects.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication with Credit Union personnel and management.
• Assists Accounting Management in preparing Board and internal management reports.
