Job summary

Gather FCU is seeking an experienced Accounting Leader to oversee the Accounting Department, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting. You will supervise staff, manage budgeting, and coordinate regulatory filings and annual reports for the credit union.

The role emphasizes strong internal controls, strategic financial guidance to senior leadership, and adherence to BSA/Patriot Act regulations while maintaining efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with relevant work experience.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, and reporting.
• Advanced expertise in preparing financial statements, budgets, and regulatory filings; GAAP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements, including cash flow statements, income statements, balance sheets, and monthly budget variance reports for management and the Board of Directors.
• Assist in annual budget process and compilation of reports for regulatory bodies.
• Oversee annual report preparation and collateral reports for the Federal Home Loan Bank.
• Analyze Balance Sheet and monitor key ratios; provide recommendations to senior management.
• Supervise Accounting staff and maintain Internal Controls; update policies and procedures.
• Verify wire activities and ensure BSA compliance; manage investment wires and documents.
• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and accrual entries; handle related projects.
• Reconcile cash accounts weekly and balance sheet reconciliations monthly; monitor expenses and credit card programs.
• Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, OFAC, GAAP, and other regulations.
