Job summary

Teachers Federal Credit Union seeks an experienced accounting professional to support financial reporting and the monthly close. The role focuses on GAAP-compliant ledger management and accurate reconciliation across multiple accounts.

With a minimum of two years in accounting and a 4-year degree, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to timely, precise financial statements and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum two years of progressively responsible accounting experience; financial institution experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills; ability to explain accounting matters clearly.
• Ability to work independently and guide entry-level staff.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, reconcile, balance, and maintain assigned accounting records per GAAP and policies.
• Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with other departments.
• Support monthly general ledger close and prepare financial reports.
• Manage accounts, reporting schedules, reconciliations, and transactions with accuracy.
• Prepare documentation for management review and external reporting as needed.
• Provide guidance to entry-level staff and assist with special duties.
