Position: Senior Staff Accountant – San Francisco, CA

Compensation and Benefits: Base range of $120k - $150k + bonus and carried interest in the fund. The value of the carried interest is expected to be the most valuable part of the compensation package. Full benefits included.

Background: Tobin Capital Group (TCG) is a Stanford Graduate School of Business-founded, tech-enabled real estate private equity firm and operating company. TCG owns and operates approximately $400M in real estate. Having raised and begun deploying its first discretionary fund, TCG aims to quintuple its real estate portfolio within five years.

A stellar performance review may include:

• Becoming the go-to Sage Intacct expert, demonstrating proficiency in generating detailed reports, creating journal entries, and managing the general ledger.
• Becoming the go-to expert for Accounts Payable and Spend and Expense in Bill.com and Divvy, demonstrating proficiency in report generation, transaction categorization, and on-time billing.
• Consistently completing month-end close within 5 business days.
• Contributing to at least 10 new accounting policies and eliminating a similar number.
• Gaining executive approval and successfully implementing ideas to improve internal controls for AP and expense management, reducing processing time by 20%.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger and Financial Reporting: Maintain GL accounts, ensuring accurate and complete financial data.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and manage AP and AR transactions using AvidXchange and Bill.com, ensuring accurate and timely payments and collections.
• Expense Management and Reporting: Monitor employee expense reports.
• Software Utilization and Automation: Use Sage Intacct for data entry, reporting, and analysis. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
• Financial Analysis: Prepare ad-hoc reports, support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to policies, support audits, and prepare documentation.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certification: CPA required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in accounting; familiarity with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and Divvy preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling); quick learner of systems and software.
• Soft Skills: High integrity, strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, high emotional intelligence, eagerness to learn, humble attitude.
