Job summary

SPC Construction Co. in New York seeks a Senior Staff Accountant who is detail‑oriented and analytically minded to analyze financial information, prepare accurate reports, and support informed business decisions.

You will compile journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, assist with audits, and contribute to month‑end closings and financial reporting packages while partnering with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• 3+ years of related experience preferred.
• CPA certification (preferred).
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Strong analytics and trend analysis experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information to transact journal entries to the general ledger.
• Review and reconcile financial information for balance sheet accounts.
• Identify and resolve reconciling differences for various accounts.
• Provide oversight of bank account reconciliation process.
• Prepare, coordinate, and input assigned month-end closing schedules and entries.
• Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages.
• Assist with interim and annual external audits.
• Perform progress pay estimate billings for all companies as assigned.
• Provide overload assistance and special project investigation as directed by the Accounting Manager, Tax Manager or Assistant Corporate Controller.

How You Will Make an Impact

Who You Are
