Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Stablecoin team within the Developer group. You will own and scale the services and onchain contracts that power issuance, reserves, minting, and rewards for a growing roster of partners.

The role combines backend engineering and smart contract development, requiring ownership of end-to-end services, architectural decisions, and a strong focus on security and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production backend services.
• Experience writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts in production.
• Comfort owning a service end to end and designing SOA at scale.
• Security considerations for onchain systems including audits and access control.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard custom stablecoin supply, shipping changes securely.
• Build and scale backend services that power onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards distribution.
• Partner with product, design, and tech leads to turn the stablecoin roadmap into shipped features each quarter.
• Drive architectural decisions across backend and smart contracts surface balancing security, scalability, and speed.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and raise the bar for operational excellence across the team.
