Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Stablecoin team to help build and operate CCS, the platform enabling partners to launch USDC-backed stablecoins on Coinbase infrastructure. You’ll own onchain contracts and backend services powering issuance, reserves, minting, burning, and rewards for a growing roster of partners.

This role combines backend engineering with smart contract development, requiring 5+ years of production backend experience, Solidity or similar, security focus,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering across backend services.
• Experience writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts (Solidity or similar) in production.
• Ability to own a service end to end and design SOA at scale.
• Strong knowledge of security and correctness tradeoffs in onchain systems (audits, upgradeability, access control).
• Familiarity with Ethereum or similar, and DeFi or stablecoin infrastructure.
• Ability to responsibly apply generative AI to improve workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard custom stablecoins.
• Build and scale backend services powering onboarding, issuance, reserves, and rewards distribution.
• Collaborate with product, design, and tech leads to ship quarterly features.
• Drive architectural decisions across backend and smart contract surfaces for security and scalability.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and raise the bar for operational excellence.
