Job summary
Umbra is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, operate, and scale mission-critical infrastructure powering Umbra's systems. You will apply deep knowledge of modern infrastructure, distributed systems, and the tech stack to drive architectural decisions balancing scalability and reliability.
You will partner with engineering to improve processes, champion best practices, and implement solutions that boost performance and resilience.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years in a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps role supporting a SaaS platform with distributed systems.
- 10+ years in a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps role with demonstrated distributed systems expertise, preferably in aerospace context.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of critical systems, meeting SLAs through proactive monitoring and incident response.
- Develop and promote new technologies and tools, conducting research and proofs of concept to improve team capabilities.
- Lead by example fostering a culture of excellence and reliability.
- Continuously optimize team processes to increase efficiency and reduce complexity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on technical strategy and provide guidance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and resolve complex technical issues.
