Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, scale, and operate the Hybrid OpenShift platforms across on-prem and cloud environments. You will contribute to running OpenShift at scale, enabling self-service, and reducing toil through automation.

The role spans collaborating across teams to improve monitoring, CI/CD components, and platform management using GitOps and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating production services on Kubernetes/OpenShift
• 3+ years of programming experience in Python and Go
• 2+ years of experience with cloud providers (GCP, Azure, AWS)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift, Linux AWS
• Experience with GitOps workflows for managing infrastructure or application configuration
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration (RHEL/Fedora preferred)
• Understanding of standard networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/TLS) and authentication protocols (LDAP)
• Comfort with incident response, on-call responsibilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while keeping the team informed
• Knowledge of SRE principles — SLOs, error budgets, toil measurement

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage large-scale infrastructure and platform services
• Automate cloud infrastructure with scripting (Python, Go) and monitoring solutions
• Design, develop, and become expert in Red Hat OpenShift offerings
• Build & support CI/CD platform components using OpenShift Pipelines and Tekton, GitLab
• Apply Infrastructure as Code with GitOps using ArgoCD
• Break down complex engineering efforts into consumable chunks
• Design software tests and lead peer reviews to improve code quality
• Lead on-call and incident response to support tenants
