Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to design, implement, and maintain highly available systems. You will collect requirements, set SLOs, and drive automation across IT, software, and industrial teams.

You will collaborate to build on-premise and hybrid architectures using VMware, Kubernetes, Linux and Windows, while optimizing monitoring, incident response, and recovery processes at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
• 2+ years in an SRE related role, and 5+ years in an IT Systems related role.
• Experience administering IT Infrastructure such as VMware, Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, Networking, Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure), Load balancing & Monitoring.
• Expertise in scripting, coding, automation, and integration with tools such as Python, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, REST, YAML, JSON.
• Experience working with SCADA, OT, MES, or other industrial related software and systems is preferred.
• Experience with DR playbooks, capacity modeling, and cost/performance optimization in hybrid environments.
• Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, willingness to contribute at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Collect business and technical requirements and establish SLOs with cross-functional teams.
• Design on-premise, hybrid systems with high availability and scalability using vSphere, Kubernetes, Linux, Windows.
• Coordinate IT, Software, Industrial Controls, Engineering, Business teams to implement complete systems.
• Identify opportunities to automate deployment and management of IT infrastructure to reduce manual efforts and speed recovery.
• Develop integrations to streamline data across components for complete, efficient systems.
• Support incidents, lead fast triage, troubleshoot issues, and participate in on-call rotation.
• Lead post-incident reviews and drive improvements to prevent repeats.
