Job summary

Kong is building Project Volcano, an internal developer platform for Kong's engineering ecosystem. As the Senior SRE for Volcano, you will be the reliability voice shaping SLOs, incident response, and disaster recovery for edge deployments, managed Postgres, auth, realtime, and storage services.

You will design multi-region Kubernetes infrastructure, drive GitOps with ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform, and build observability with Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana from day one.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Staff or Principal IC level experience in SRE/Platform Engineering.
• Proven track record building SRE or platform engineering practices for developer-facing platforms or PaaS/SaaS products.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability for Volcano end-to-end: Define and drive SLOs, error budgets, and incident response practices for all Volcano services.
• Contribute to the platform's infrastructure: Design and build multi-region Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and data plane for edge deployment and backend-as-a-service.
