Job summary

Waystar is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer II to drive reliability, scalability, and performance across critical platforms. You will define SLIs/SLOs, manage error budgets, and lead automation initiatives to reduce toil while improving system resilience.

In this role, you will mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and collaborate across product, software, and infrastructure teams to embed reliability into development lifecycles.

Qualifications

7+ years of Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize reliability, scalability, and performance across platforms.
Define SLIs/SLOs and error budgets; drive automation to reduce operational overhead.
Lead incident management and postmortems; implement long‑term corrective actions.
Mentor engineers and influence architecture for reliability early in development lifecycles.
Improve deployment pipelines, observability, and automation to raise developer productivity.
