Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of our production ecosystem at a global scale. You will balance automation with rapid incident response, disaster recovery and resilience, while collaborating with development teams to ensure high availability and observability.

You will lead incident management, implement resilient designs, and drive capacity planning to support massive traffic surges in a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, or C++).
• Strong understanding of Linux system internals, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience managing containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).

Responsibilities

• End-to-end reliability of production ecosystem.
• Balance automation and performance tuning with disaster recovery focus.
• Design and optimize high-concurrency distributed systems for scalability and availability.
• Develop and maintain automation tools to reduce toil and manage infrastructure as code.
• Develop and refine monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (SLIs/SLOs).
• Lead global disaster recovery drills and validate failover mechanisms.
• Coordinate cross-functional incident war rooms and drive technical troubleshooting.
• Conduct blameless post-mortems and translate insights into engineering requirements.
• Manage capacity planning to handle growth and traffic surges.
