Job summary

Apple Inc. Seattle seeks an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to build and support highly available customer-facing services within Apple Services Engineering.

You will work with the SRE teams to ensure reliability, performance and security across iCloud, Mail, Drive, Backup, and more. In this role, you will collaborate with product teams, develop automation, and participate in on-call rotations, while shaping the end-to-end SDLC of our server software stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Infrastructure Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps focused role.
• BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of Linux operating system principles, networking fundamentals, and systems management.
• Fluency in Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience in managing and scaling distributed systems in public/private/hybrid clouds.
• Familiarity with micro-services architecture and Kubernetes.
• Awareness of encryption and key exchange principles.
• Understanding of monitoring, alerting, fault budgets, automation.

Responsibilities

• Engage with product teams to design resilient, scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Operate, monitor, and triage all production and non-production environments.
• Collaborate on code, infrastructure, design reviews, and process improvements.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve reliability, security, and performance.
• Develop automation to provision, configure, deploy, and monitor services.
• Participate in an on-call rotation providing hands-on expertise during outages.
• Contribute to capacity planning, scale testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Approach operational problems with a software engineering mindset.
