Job summary

Unifonic, Inc. is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in our Production Operations (Live) team to enhance reliability, scalability, and resilience of our cloud-based messaging platform.

You will drive incident response, automate critical tasks, and lead SRE initiatives across AWS, OCI, OpenStack, and multi-cluster Kubernetes environments. You will mentor engineers, define SLOs/SLIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve MTTR, observability, and disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on production experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud engineering.
• Strong expertise in AWS and OCI/OpenStack-like environments.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes ecosystems (EKS, OKE, Rancher).
• Experience with distributed messaging and databases (Kafka, Redis, MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash, Go) and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, uptime, and scalability of production services 24/7.
• Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
• Build and maintain robust runbooks, escalation paths, and SRE processes.
• Enforce SLOs/SLIs, implement observability with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch.
• Drive automation using Terraform, Helm, Jenkins, Tekton, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Optimize cloud resources for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS, OKE, Rancher RKE2) and container strategies.
• Maintain high availability and backups for critical databases.
