Job summary

Talent Octopusventures is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and manage core GitHub Enterprise tooling and services. You will automate policy enforcement, streamline repository lifecycle management, and integrate with enterprise systems using Go and modern DevOps practices.

You will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and development teams to meet enterprise-wide requirements, implement GitHub Apps and Actions, and mentor junior engineers while creating clear, practical

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Go and building scalable software services.
• Experience designing and consuming APIs and integrating with external systems.
• Strong understanding of GitHub Enterprise features and policies.
• Background in operations, SRE, or infrastructure engineering with emphasis on automation.
• Familiarity with modern SDLC, security remediations, and testing practices.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust software for managing GitHub Enterprise resources, primarily in Go.
• Build tools to automate creation, configuration, and policy enforcement across GitHub Organizations.
• Develop systems for standardized repository creation, lifecycle management, and compliance.
• Implement policy enforcement via GitHub Apps/Actions and secure coding practices.
• Integrate GitHub with identity providers, security scanners, and compliance platforms.
• Drive automation of operational tasks to improve efficiency.
• Explore and implement Generative AI tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with security, infra, and development teams to meet enterprise needs.
• Create clear documentation for tools and services and provide technical mentorship.
